About Us

The San Diego County Assistive Technology Task Force (SDCATTF) was established over 15 years ago by Judy Gwinnup for the purpose of having a monthly meeting to provide support, shared knowledge building, and collaboration among assistive technology specialists in the San Diego region. Judy was an innovative Teacher of the Orthopedically Impaired in Cajon Valley Union School District. The task force has continued to grow as districts establish assistive technology positions and teams in response to the increasing needs of our students with disabilities. The SDCATTF is comprised of leaders in the field of assistive technology who work in the Pre-K through 12 public education setting.

The Assistive Technology Guide website is an ongoing collaborative effort by the following San Diego County SELPA's: North Coastal Consortium for Special Education, East County, South County, San Diego Unified and Poway, to provide the most current, evidence-based resources to support educators in the areas of Universal Design for Learning, augmentative/alternative communication, and accessibility.
